4stringboy Shines at the Linz Ukulele Festival

The Linz Ukulele Festival brought together players, creators, and enthusiasts from across Europe, and one of the standout artists this year was Flight Artist Sammy, also known as 4stringboy. Recognized for his atmospheric style and inventive approach to the ukulele, Sammy added a fresh creative spark to the event through both his workshops and his evening performance.

Throughout the day, Sammy led three engaging workshops that gave participants a closer look at his musical mindset. He began by teaching how to build complex chords using two simple steps, making harmony feel clear and approachable. In his second workshop, he explained how to blend strumming and fingerstyle with his signature “lazy strumming” technique, a method that helps players shift easily between different textures. His final session explored the use of harmonics, where he showed everyone how to create the bright, ringing “sparkles” that are so characteristic of his sound.

In the evening, Sammy returned to the stage for a headlining performance filled with emotion and precision. He performed pieces from his album VEJR and closed the night with his newest cover of “Zombie.” Every piece was played on his signature Flight 4SB ukulele, an instrument that reflects his tone, touch, and artistic identity.

Sammy’s presence at the Linz Ukulele Festival made the event even more memorable and offered the audience a deeper look into the artistry that defines his music.
