Flight Ukulele at the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain 2026
This past weekend, the ukulele community came together in Cheltenham for the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain, held from August 14–16. The three-day celebration brought players, performers, teachers, and ukulele enthusiasts together for a weekend packed with concerts, workshops, jams, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow musicians.
And this year, Flight Ukulele was proud to be part of it!
Flight at UFOGB
Thanks to our friends at Southern Ukulele Store, festival-goers had the chance to get up close with a wide selection of Flight Ukuleles. Southern Ukulele Store brought the Flight stand to the festival, giving Flighters the opportunity to try different models, discover new favorites, and, of course, take a new Flight home with them.
It was fantastic to see so many players stopping by the stand, chatting about Flight, trying out instruments, and finding their next ukulele. A festival is the perfect place to experience an instrument in person, and we’re thrilled that so many lucky Flighters left Cheltenham with a new Flight in their hands.
Julia Traser Takes the Stage
Flight Artist Julia Traser was also there representing Flight throughout the weekend. Julia performed at the festival and hosted her workshop, “Sing & Strum: Unlock the Magic of Singing While Playing.”
Her workshop gave players the opportunity to explore the connection between singing and playing while developing their confidence as performers. It was a perfect fit for a festival centered around learning, playing, and sharing the joy of the ukulele.
We’re always excited to see Flight Artists not only performing on stage, but also sharing their knowledge with other players and helping inspire the next generation of ukulele musicians.
Anarchy in the Ukulele with Flight
Another familiar face for Flight was Anarchy in the Ukulele, who were also part of the festival lineup.
The group performed during the weekend using Flight ukuleles and hosted their own workshop, “Building a Ukulele Band/Group from the Ground Up.”
It was great to see Flight instruments being put to work both on stage and in the workshop, with Anarchy in the Ukulele sharing their experience and showing just how much fun can come from making music together.
A Weekend Full of Ukulele
Of course, Flight was only one part of a much bigger celebration. The 2026 festival brought together an impressive lineup of artists and educators, with workshops covering everything from songwriting, blues, improvisation, Hawaiian music, and fingerpicking to vocal harmony and performance.
Beyond the concerts and workshops, the festival also offered plenty of opportunities for the wider ukulele community to play together, including the Big Busk, the Mass Jam, open mics, and informal jams throughout the weekend.
That community spirit is what makes events like UFOGB so special. Whether you were attending a workshop, discovering a new instrument in the vendors’ hall, watching a performance, or simply joining a group for a song, there was always an opportunity to pick up a ukulele and play.
Thank You, Flighters!
We’re incredibly happy to have been part of the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain 2026 and grateful to everyone who stopped by the Flight stand, attended Julia’s workshop, watched the performances, tried a Flight, or simply shared a few songs with us over the weekend.
A huge thank you to Southern Ukulele Store for bringing Flight to the festival, to Julia Traser for representing Flight on and off the stage, and to Anarchy in the Ukulele for performing with Flight instruments.
Most importantly, thank you to all the Flighters who came out, picked up a ukulele, joined a jam, learned something new, and helped make the weekend such a memorable celebration of the instrument we all love.
Until next time, keep strumming!
