We caught up with Jayden to talk about discovering the ukulele, building a community through music, his favorite Flight instruments, and the moments that have shaped his path as a musician and creator.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your musical background?

I’m Jayden Blue, a 25-year-old professional trampoline athlete and full-time content creator from Texas. I picked up the ukulele about four years ago and it completely changed my life musically. Before that, I had only dabbled with instruments like trumpet and clarinet in school.

The ukulele became my gateway into music and inspired me to learn many other instruments, including guitar, bass, mandolin, keyboard, harmonicas, flutes, and more. I love learning new instruments and challenging myself creatively.

How did you first discover the ukulele, and what drew you to it?

My younger sister had a ukulele lying around one day and after watching someone play online, I picked it up and started figuring out little melodies by ear. I was instantly hooked.

What drew me in was how approachable and fun it felt. Even simple melodies sounded beautiful and it didn’t take long before I was spending hours learning songs and looking up tutorials.

How would you describe your style as an artist?

I would describe my style as melodic and relaxed. I enjoy playing everything from blues-inspired riffs to peaceful acoustic melodies. As a content creator, I also love combining music with videography and creating tutorials that are both visually engaging and easy to follow.

What role does music play in your life today?

Music is both an escape and a creative outlet for me. It helps me relax, keeps me learning, and allows me to connect with people all over the world.

How has your journey as a musician evolved over time?

I started with very simple ukulele tutorials and gradually learned more about recording, editing, and producing better content. At the same time, I continued expanding into new instruments and improving my playing.

The journey has evolved from simply learning songs for fun into building an amazing community around music and creating content that helps others learn.

What inspires you when creating or performing music?

What inspires me most is helping people discover the joy of playing music. I love reading comments from someone who learned a song through one of my tutorials or found inspiration to pick up an instrument.

Knowing that my videos can positively impact someone else’s musical journey keeps me motivated.

How did you first connect with Flight Ukulele?

I first discovered Flight through their electric ukulele lineup. I absolutely loved the Pathfinder and eventually bought one as a reward for myself after one of my ukulele tutorials reached over one million views.

I made a few videos with it and before long, Flight reached out to me on TikTok. I was incredibly excited because I had already become a genuine fan of the brand and their instruments.

Do you have a favorite Flight model, and what do you like about it?

My favorite Flight model is the Victoria Tenor.

I love everything about it: the beautiful finish, the classical-style headstock, the ergonomic cutaway, and how great it feels to play. It was also the first instrument Flight sent me, so it has a special place in my heart.

Can you share a memorable moment from your musical journey?

One of the most meaningful parts of my musical journey has been sharing it with my Great Uncle Max. When I first started playing, he encouraged me and gifted me some of my first instruments, including a baritone ukulele and a bass, which was actually the first instrument I ever made a tutorial with.

Over the years, he’s become one of my biggest supporters and has always been excited about my journey with Flight and the music I’ve been playing. Music has given us a lot of special moments together, and I’m looking forward to many more.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out on the ukulele?

Keep it simple and have fun. Find beginner versions of songs you genuinely love and play a little bit every day.

Don’t worry about progressing quickly. The more fun you’re having, the more you’ll naturally improve.
