Flight TUS50 Salamander Travel Soprano Ukulele

4.6 (5 reviews)

Plastic Fantastic! Conventional wisdom will say that plastic ukuleles are cheap, low-quality substitutes for “the real thing”. Well, it’s time to kick conventional wisdom out the door! Built unapologetically from plastic, the sound quality of these ukuleles will blow you away, and their durability will make them Keith Richards’ instrument of choice after Armageddon hits. These ukes are perfect for rainy festivals, cramped overhead lockers, moody teenagers, and ukulele teachers working with young children.

Flight TUS50 Salamander

Soprano Travel Ukulele

Let Your Music Take

Company Logo

Thanks to a wider arched ABS back, this baby has more volume in middle range than your average soprano, while also resonating better and sounding brighter. It is needless to mention the durability and resistance to humidity changes, the main enemies of the wooden ukuleles.

Nutcracker's choice

Walnut Magic

Walnut is a fascinating heartwood, preferred by luthiers for both its malleability and beauty. Walnut is stiffer and denser than Mahogany, so its tone is brighter, as bright as Koa. However, open grains allow for a more present midrange that splits the difference between Rosewood and Mahogany. And on top of that – it looks simply great! The beautiful grain, paired with our hand-drawn Salamander design is already winning many admirers the world over!

Let's play.

ABS Neck & Fingerboard

The neck and fingerboard of the TUS50 are made from ABS plastic. It is a perfect solution for entry class ukuleles, since it is not prone to any weather changes. You will never get a sharp fret or bent neck in any of our Travel ukuleles. The neck surface imitates the wood pattern, to avoid a feeling of cheap plastic.

Pitch perfect quality.

Zero fret & ABS Saddle

Zero fret paired with unique bridge construction keeps the string action low and intonation on point. Since the plastic is never going to move, you will never have to deal with any additional work on the saddle.

It all starts with the head.

Good-looking and easy to tune.

Headstock design is an integral part of our identity. The headstock veneer of TUS50 is made of walnut to match the top. All Flight ukuleles feature a carefully-designed headstock fitted with geared tuners that will always stay in tune.

Denim Style

Always ready to go

The final touch that the Travel Ukulele needed was a cool gig bag to accompany it on your travels. We chose the blue denim colour to compliment your style and also to make the bag stand out from the standard black that everyone else seems to favour.

Every tiny detail matters.

  1. Angela Sandoval

    I love this color

  2. Terry Batters

I’m not surprised that this model is out of stock – it seems too good to be true but it isn’t, it’s a brilliant little uke at a bargain of a price! It certainly doesn’t play like a ukulele made out of mainly ABS. For a ukulele to stuff in your baggage and travel with, this could be the one for you.

  3. london

It’s an amazing uke, though it was kind of hard to tune. Perfect for beginners, people who travel a lot and children.

  4. Matthew Hicks

Simply one of the best entry level ukes at this price level. I have been teaching ukes in and off and playing for 15 years and this is one of the best cheap ukes I’ve used to teach. Playable, stays in tune, good intonation and very resilient.

  5. David

Best entry level Uke i have ever played, i still can’t believe this is what i paid for it!
